Hari Narain Srivastava (b. 1936) joined the Indian Meteorological Service in 1959. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Physics from Lucknow University in 1963. Dr. Srivastava held important positions as Director (Seismology) and Additional Director General (Research) till 1994. He also served as Director (Earth System Science) in the Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi. He is presently a consultant in various projects in Earthquake Hazard assessment studies /Seismology.
