Subhajyoti Das, formerly Director in the Central Ground Water Board, and a versatile hydrogeologist, has a rich experience in groundwater surveys, exploration, development and management in varied hydrogeological terrains in the country. He is a prolific writer on the subject in national and international science journals, magazines and books. Some of his reputed books (authored or edited) include Hydrogeological Atlas of Orissa (1996); Hydrogeological Research in India (2008), Changing Geohydrogeological Scenario (2008),.as also Bengaluru : Water Problems of the Fastest Growing City of India (2011). He is now on the Editorial Boards of Geological Society of India and Indian Society of Applied Geochemists.
