Dr. Pradhan has brought his expert knowledge of insect pests of crops and of their control measures to bear on this book. He has dealt in it in detail with no less than seventy species of pests. A fellow of the Entomological Society of London, the late Dr. S. Pradhan, M.Se., Ph.D. (Lond.), D. Sc. (Luck), FE.S.l., F.N.I. was a life fellow of the Entomological Society of India and the National Institute of Sciences. Widely travelled, he contributed many research papers and review articles to periodicals in India and abroad. He was connected with several national and international pest control organisations, and was for some time head of the Division of Entomology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Late Dr. M.G. Jotwani, who revised the second edition was a Senior Scientist & Technical Project Leader in the Division of Entomology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He had over 30 years experience of research and teaching in Entomology and had published 165 research papers and popular articles.
